Both companies have worked together to integrate UDS Enterprise and LEAF OS, a Linux-based operating system from NComputing. As a result, Virtual Cable’s VDI solution is natively pre-installed on all LEAF OS-based NComputing thin clients (ARM and x86-64) and available for use with other generic x86-64 endpoints. In addition, UDS Enterprise is now available on all third-party devices with Leaf OS installed.
NComputing customers will enjoy all the advantages of UDS Enterprise: 24×7 remote access to Windows and Linux virtual desktops, applications, and remotely accessible devices. These functionalities include the highest security standards, optimal performance, and a superb user experience. IT admins can also leverage outstanding benefits such as centralized management, advanced automation capabilities, and live monitoring of the whole IT infrastructure.
The City Council of El Ejido has adopted the joint VDI solution. Their project entitled “VDI Technology to Improve Services for Citizens, Promote Remote Working and Sustainability” is a finalist in the @aslan Awards for Digital Transformation in Government Bodies in the “Digitalization of the workplace” category. This project has not only improved the productivity of the city council’s administrative staff. It has also improved energy efficiency and sustainability as the Consistory’s energy expenditure was high because they needed powerful equipment for staff to obtain adequate performance and, on many occasions, the devices were left switched on between shifts.
Javier González, Technical Director of Virtual Cable, explains that “we are proud to announce this alliance with an international reference company in the virtualization sector. More than ten years ago, we started developing our UDS Enterprise VDI software to create the most flexible, adaptable, and scalable desktop virtualization solution available with the goal of unlimited freedom in terms of compatible technologies. This agreement is another step in that direction, a step forward to democratize VDI technology and, consequently, great news for our user community.”
“The UDS Enterprise VDI software support now found in NComputing’s endpoint solutions is made possible by our close collaboration with Virtual Cable. It aligns with our mission to provide powerful, easy-to-use computing solutions to anyone interested in digital workspaces. Our decades of excellence in the thin client marketplace helps fortify this technical alliance and opens up new possibilities to all of our customers,” said Richard Sah, CTO for NComputing.
