This project, developed by the University of Murcia in collaboration with Virtual Cable and based on its UDS Education solution, has been recognized for its ability to break down technological accessibility barriers for people with disabilities.

Virtual Cable and the University of Murcia have been recognized in the 17th edition of the @aslan Awards for Digitalization in Public Administrations for the new features of the EVITA 3.0 project. This recognition highlights the contribution of the UDS Enterprise developer to technological accessibility for people with disabilities in the university environment, in addition to promoting inclusive digitalization and equal opportunities.

 

EVITA 3.0 boosts digital accessibility in universities with facial recognition

EVITA 3.0, based on Virtual Cable’s digital workspace solution, has been awarded in the Workplace category thanks to its ability to eliminate barriers for people with disabilities. Its innovative biometric authentication system with artificial intelligence enables secure and easy access to digital environments through facial recognition, which is particularly beneficial for users with visual or motor disabilities.

The solution also integrates advanced tools such as the Jaws screen reader, ZoomText for magnification and narration, an on-screen keyboard, a DRM-enabled document reader, and an optical character recognition system. These features reinforce Virtual Cable and the University of Murcia’s commitment to accessible and equitable education.

The @aslan Awards, with the support of more than 220 technological partners and more than 5,000 voting participants, are a benchmark in the recognition of innovation in the public sector. Since their creation, they have highlighted more than 600 projects and have had the participation of more than 150 organizations, consolidating themselves as a key platform for administrative digitalization.
