Three projects with UDS, candidates for IDC FutureScape Awards

IDC Spain celebrates tomorrow its landmark event in which the technological trends for this year will be revealed. Within the framework of IDC Predictions FutureScape 2021, this IT consulting firm will deliver the FutureScape Awards, which recognize the most innovative initiatives for the implementation of disruptive technologies, customer experience and third platform technology solutions. Three projects with UDS Enterprise compete for the award in the last category.

The candidacies featuring our popular software for virtualization of desktops, applications and remote access to physical and virtual machines are the following:

  • Los Arcos del Mar Menor General University Hospital – Remote Working with UDS Enterprise VDI. Thanks to its commitment to desktop virtualization, this hospital was able to react quickly to the declaration of the state of alarm due to the pandemic and allow all professionals who could carry out their tasks remotely to work from home. And not only that. They were also able to help the Murcian Health Service to provide this service to professionals in Pharmacology, Oncology, Hematology, and even Microbiology, the unit responsible for analyzing PCR. In total, hundreds of professionals distributed around different public hospitals in the Region of Murcia are working from home using virtual desktops or remotely accessing hospital computers thanks to UDS Enterprise.

  • Amavir – Centralized IT management of 41 nursing homes with UDS Enterprise cloud VDI. Amavir trusts UDS Enterprise as the cornerstone of its cloud desktop virtualization project, including Telefónica’s VMware vDirector platform as infrastructure as a service. This solution has simplified to the maximum the management and maintenance of the IT equipment of its 41 nursing homes. Before, they had to travel to each center to perform any IT task. Now, they are done centrally through a web browser. It has also allowed them to save money on the acquisition of new computer devices. Their commitment to this technology was key during the state of alarm for Covid-19. They were able to offer the option to work from home to all professionals who could due to their specialty .

  • University of Cantabria – Remote access to the campus computers with UDS Enterprise. This educational center has managed to solve the IT challenges caused by the health crisis with agility and efficiency. They have had to find the best way for their students to continue with their studies from home. To do this, they launched the “UNICAN Labs” project in record time, which provides remote access to campus computers at any time, from any place and device. Thanks to this innovative service, developed in collaboration with the UDS Enterprise team, the entire university community has access to all teaching applications without limitations and can use them from any location in the same way as if they were physically at the university.
